#Dim sum flushing mall skin#
The soup dumplings had very thick skin and you can immediately tell from the little "knot" on the top. Nothing you can't get from most restaurants. Like most people mentioned, the dimsum is very limited. We ordered the soup dumplings, the grandma's fried rice, some sweet and sour pork w/ taro and two dimsum dishes. Everyone is just trying to do everything as fast as they can, with the least amount of facial expressions as possible. They don't even bother with friendly service so don't expect that. The wait was not as long as I thought it would be and we were seated after ten minutes. Maybe I should've told my parents, but I didn't want to be the party pooper. Being the Yelper I am, I immediately looked up the place and was appalled by the two star rating it has. We were headed to another restaurant until my dad suggested we try Grandma's Dim Sum instead. Took a trip into flushing with my parents to run some errands and eat a quick lunch.

The broth was also very light and also tasted freshly made. The dumplings were also very good and tasted freshly made. The noodles were perfectly cooked, freshly mad and it had this nice chewy texture. It seems like the fish balls were just defrosted and dumped into the sauce.Ĭhicken and pork dumpling and noodle soup- This was the best dish, thank goodness otherwise I would have still been hungry. We went around 3, so it was probably left over and sitting.įish ball with coconut curry gravy- no flavor.

Then we could see the fat pieces on the dumpling, like it was not cooked off.Ĭhicken and chive dumplings- OK, the outside was overcooked and mushy that it was falling off. The broth was extremely sweet, like MSG sweet. Pork and crab meat soup dumplings- It was disgusting. The place itself was very modern and nicely decorated. We went there because we were shopping and we were lazy to go outside, we should have made the effort because the food was disappointing.
